Taste is taste regardless of style. It is a manifesto for how we design – infuse our clients’ aesthetic with ours, honor design principals and produce stunning results. We were thrilled to hear from a returning client for a project that is now underway in Sedona. We originally remodeled their Phoenix Park Lane bathroom into a luxe spa retreat, this time they wanted to convert an outdoor porch into an indoor wine tasting room. With views of Bell Rock, we were inspired! The form, texture, color scheme and ambience all drew from its grand appearance right in front of us.
Perhaps as stunning as the views themselves are the stone slabs. We selected Esmerelda Onyx for the waterfall edge tasting table that will be illuminated from within and the Michelangelo Nuvolato Dolomite for the wetbar. On their own, these stones are incredibly special and fabricated they will be absolutely breathtaking.
With all of the natural stone and rustic elements, we found relief by adding glimmering hand-made mercury glass pendant lights above the tasting table. TIP: A little glistening can add visual value and interest to an otherwise flat and dull design. Think of the stone as matte and adding mercury glass as the shine!
The furnishings serve form and function! We commissioned a design from a local stone quarry to create a custom agate and forged iron table, inspired in style by the one shown here but ours will be completely one-of-a-kind!
Custom upholstered swivel chairs in a rich-hued leather will complete the design and allow a swivel towards the tasting table or out to that amazing view!
